Public seminar at Humanisten with the research network Imagine Palestine that provides a platform for discussions on Palestinian poetry, literature, culture, and politics. The seminar is attended by Samah Sabawi, a Palestinian-Australian Author, Playwright, Poet and Doctor of Philosophy.

Samah Sabawi is a Palestinian Australian Author, Playwright, Poet and Doctor of Philosophy from Victoria University, Australia.

She has published the novel Cactus Pear For My Beloved (2024) and is currently working to collect stories and testimonies from women and girls in Gaza, for a forthcoming book that gives voice to the experiences of forced displacement from the war that Israel has waged in Gaza since October 2023. In this seminar Samah Sabawi will talk about writing Palestine, oral testimony and reclaiming the narrative.
