I am a Palestinian author, playwright and producer. I tell stories of love and memory, exile and belonging, and the quiet, enduring work of resistance. My work expands across theatre, literature and film.
All We Have, a personal note:
It began with a simple hope: to help nurture a Palestinian animation industry, and create opportunities for Palestinian artists to learn, work, grow and tell our own stories. In those early days, my heart was especially in Gaza, where many of our first team members lived or came from. I wanted the film to create not only art, but work, training and possibility; a small space where Palestinian talent could grow and flourish. As the idea grew, so did our team, bringing together Palestinian artists and experts from across Palestine and from a diaspora scattered around the world; drawing, writing, animating, composing, imagining. Then came the Gaza genocide, and everything changed. We lost loved ones, families and friends. Grief touched every one of us, and there were times when making a film felt almost impossible, even absurd, beside the enormity of what was happening. But somehow, with hearts burdened by more pain than we knew how to carry, we persevered. And somewhere along the way, All We Have became more than a film. It became a way of holding on to one another, a labour of love made across the very borders meant to divide us, and an act of resistance against everything that has tried to fragment us, silence us or make our stories disappear.
